BAD FORM / BAD POEM – PROMPT #108

Sky is the limit #3

Masochistic Poetry Piercing

O thrash me with your muscular muse

trounce me with verbosity puked from the news

tase me with glorious verbification

a pronounced ribbing with interjected exclamation

expose not only my coordination dysfunctions

but also highlight subordinating conjunctions

pierce me with homely adjunct identifiers

lambaste me with steroid-laden modifiers

sticks and stones may break my bones,

but parts of speech excite me !

if your critique does not assail

like racing snail, my poem doth fail

BAD FORM / BAD POEM – PROMPT #108

Poetics: It’s Tempting!

Tipsy Toes

Tipsy Toes

stylish, reusable

slippered ice cubes

clinking, tumbling, ringing

in my glass, I bathe

you in alcoholic spirits

eighty proof and rising till

you sweat, sweat, sweat

droplets and beads forming

into finger drawn rivulets

dripping vertically down glass

chill that thrills my throat

brain freeze, thawed by

refreshing fire that soothes

my reckless mind

sorrows and hours drowned

glories and loose women toasted

bottoms up, tops down

more, more, moooooor

salvation reflected in blurred glass

melting away realities harshness

revealing only another finished drink

I reach for the bottle, but it’s just

a picture of one on a box filled

with eucalyptus and silk flowers

IN-FORM POET WEDNESDAY – FLORETTE

Stay Awhile

There is a place, where bluebirds sing

picket-fenced streets, where church bells ring

spring comes early and fall stays late

come on let’s go, don’t hesitate, it’ll be a fling

❈ ✾ ❃ ❈ ✾ ❃

We’ll bounce ourselves off blank pages

paint the town pink till it rages

We’ll write new songs of patient blues

We’ll search the bars for tasty brews and wise sages

❈ ✾ ❃ ❈ ✾ ❃

We’ll rid ourselves of pocket change

hoot and holler from mountain range

flash our brightest winningest smile

We’ll dance and shimmy in the aisle at the town grange

 IN-FORM POET WEDNESDAY – FLORETTE

Open Link Night — week 92

Goodbye, Bell Pond Road

(A Sonnet)

A dream grew far from Westchester

three hours north up interstate trail

bought some good land, came up for sale

perfect time, end of semester

hidden away a secret niche

southern faced, just one mile to town

dark loamy soil, so earthy brown

not very flat, but water rich

decades have passed, it’s time to leave

suitcases bursting at the seams

old age surrenders youthful dreams

 firefly show missed, midsummer’s eve

I lived a life, my only fame

I leave a road, that bears my name

2013 APRIL PAD CHALLENGE: DAY 4

Hold That  (________)

Hold that train, I’m running late

Hold that plane, don’t close that gate

Hold that pose, you goofy guy

Hold that prose, in my minds eye

Hold that rope, don’t let me fall

Hold that bet, on margin call

Hold that thought, don’t let it slip

Hold that smile, from cartoon strip

Hold that pin, I’ll sink this putt

Hold that axe, No budget cut!

Hold that nugget, from famed ore bed

Hold that mistake, over my head

Hold that sanding, for finish coat

Hold that ice cream, for root beer float

Hold that love, deep in your heart

Hold that dream, of a fresh start

Paper Collar

Paper Fashion Passion

In lint-white lamp-hour light

her paper-collared coquettish appeal

pirouettes like a Victorian age cyclone.

Fashion addict mystique dispersed as

happy-go-lucky gimcrack neckwear

emboldens her Khu. Creative complexity

in full whirligig orbit, hovering between

quicksilver radiance and scatterbrained

ghostly pallor. A goddess adorned in flexible

shroud of pearly-white stencil-cut lace.

Her aura, fleshly quintessence of incandescence.

Shades of bright, goddess of light

awaiting Purusha, her cosmic man.
