One Single Impression: Elemental

FLAME

Beyond quivering bone trail

of mind’s darkest jungles

lies soul’s flame

living gem of illumination

A burning sun within

adjective- defying holiest of holies

burn away my imperfections

burn away my attachments

enchant me, consume me

enwrap me in self-sustaining purification

an elemental gift matched by

Prometheus, mythological sovereign

shining embellishment of my inner sanctum

embracing ancient alliances

endowed with ability to transport

past statuary’s unearthly whiteness

a glint of bronze

a glitter of crystal

elemental illusions

We generate our own light

Lovely, Randy. And so very true, in so many ways.

“We generate our own light” – why is that so difficult to remember so much of the time, I wonder? Nicely penned, wonderful poem … gives warmth throughout …

That painting is fantastic!!! The contrast of the bright blue eyes and the orange flame, bouncing off the green background. And his emaciated face. Exquisite.

And from your poem, these are my favorite lines:

    “Beyond quivering bone trail
    of mind’s darkest jungles”

    “burn away my attachments”

    “self-sustaining purification
    an elemental gift matched by
    Prometheus”

    “a glint of bronze
    a glitter of crystal
    elemental illusions
    We generate our own light”

we do generate our own light…really like the flow of this one…the image you pair with it goes really well…i like the burning away of attachments…and in that the refined image there as you draw to a close….
