NYEVE

New Years Eve

Great Scott !!

pyrotechnic

flabbergastors

have seized reign!!

fireworks celebrations circling the globe

as planetary fire wheel cycles calendar

sparkling veins mock gravity’s oppressive hold

hummingbird legions, whizzing & whirling

flamboyantly embroidering this beaded night

 *****

as peppermint starlight pinwheels pirouette

mobs gather, to sample first-hand

bawdy, metallic-like, taste sensation

 *****

wonder-filled eyes tearing in

carcinogenic smoke of gunpowder fog

smell of deep space tickles olfactory senses

 *****

 waltzing to The Blue Danube

lustgardens shivering ecstasties

 midnight befuddled

by mulberry lips

Randy – this is so vivid for me – I especially like the close – I can hear the Blue Danube – may go put it on – and love the befuddled midnight. Of course, mulberry is a color of lipstick and wine, but I think of the old song – here we go around the mulberry bush! One more time. k.

Nothing like the fireworks that usher in New Years, Randy! You depicted New Years Eve, the eve of so much change, vividly. Wishing you a Happy New Year.

Thank You Nara, I have tried to comment on your blog but my open ID can not be verified, most of those blogs with the big orange E take forever to load and ask me to jump through too many hoops just to leave a comment, sorry our blogsites are incompatible!

Excellent! I absolutely love the descriptions in this! Hummingbird legions and peppermint starlight pinwheels. These are lines that will stick in my mind next time I watch fireworks.

Fireworks are a big deal around here, lol. I live in TN, and there is a HUGE Firework’s Supermarket a few miles away. People get super excited about loud, colorful explosive celebrations :) Cool piece!

Certainly brings together the commotion, noise and a colourful calamity for the senses. Happy New Year!

Ha! I wonder how many midnights are ‘befuddled by mulberry lips’! Resolutions won and lost.
