Call For Peace

C ome, O purist hearts, let us rally

A t the Fountain of Time

L orado Taft’s sculptured masterwork honoring peace

L onging, abounding in its essence

F rom dignity to prosperity to destiny

O ur differences equal in love and hope

R ainbow’s colours of humanity

P enetrate shadows of war-filled mist

E choes of peace, traveling nation to nation

A n inexpressibly blissful intermission

C omplacent in appreciation of perceived order

E nvisioned in eyes of silent persuasion

Well expressed, Randy. Wonderful acrostic. I especially like the ‘rainbow color of humanity.’ So true, and all colors are beautiful and play a part in the whole.

I loved “rainbow colours of humanity,” possibly partly because colours is spelled the British way :-) which made it stand out. And I love “silent eyes of persuasion” too.

The acrostic form is clever too – I wouldn’t have thought of trying that!
